Maries Pizza stores are located from HELENSVALE TO TUGUN with 6 stores covering most of the 55 kilometre Gold Coast strip. Stores are open every day except Christmas Day and some Public Holidays!

In 1979 Marie and Ted Sherman (Snr.) packed up the car and moved the five children from rural Bathurst in NSW to Queensland’s Gold Coast in search of warmer weather. The goal was to provide jobs, a better lifestyle and security for their family.

Maries Pizza was founded in 1981 with the first store opened at Palm Beach on Queensland’s Gold Coast. From the beginning Ted and Marie recognised the need for excellence, and a point of difference, and developed their unique pizza dough with the assistance of a World Renowned pastry chef.

Toppings were (and still are) always fresh and plentiful and it wasn’t long before Maries Pizza became legendary and sought out by many of the visiting rich and famous celebrities and dignitaries.

The Maries Pizza store at Palm Beach became an iconic pizzeria and a “hang out”, much loved by the local surfies and families alike.

This success demanded expansion and more and more Maries Pizza stores and soon the entire family was involved in every aspect of the business from dough production to management and development.

The family passion resulted in total immersion in the business with everyone learning the skills, and the art, of pizza making with an unfaltering dedication to the provision of superior meal alternatives from pizzas, to pasta, salads, and more.

Many of Maries Pizza customers today have been regulars since 1981.

As the Gold Coast matured from a beach resort town to a progressive city the family has moved forward to develop new stores, expand the menu and improve every aspect of the brand.

Today, CEO Kate Biglands is the driving force in ensuring the proud Maries Pizza brand continues to grow and produce the world famous piled high Maries Pizza that Australians and visitors to Australia’s holiday playground have grown to love.
